MXdN teamwork

At the MXdN it's all about the team. With Kurt Nicoll out with a broken leg in Saturday practice our chances of winning the overall with a two-man squad were non-existent. Nonetheless, both David and I wanted to do the best we could.

For world champion Thorpe, his mission was to prove that he could beat the Americans and confirm his place as the fastest rider in the world. For myself the goal was to show that my place on the team was deserved.

In practice we both helped each other, taking turns showing lines that maybe the other hadn't spotted. Here I'm glancing over my shoulder as Thorpey closes in during training, hunting for lines.

By Sunday night I think we had both achieved what we set out to do. Thorpe had won the overall, I had finished 6th in the 125 class against some pretty stellar competition, and Team GB finished 5th overall.
