1983 Belgian 500cc Grand Prix, Namur

The following YouTube videos are clips from a French language documentary covering the 1983 Belgian GP. Swedish hard man Hakan Carlqvist was going for his first and only 500cc world championship against formidable Belgian rival, and hometown favourite Andre Malherbe.

Although much of the first couple of clips is interview-based it's still cool to watch, and once the bikes take to the track in part three onwards it's really interesting to see the behind-the-scenes coverage of practice and timed training.

A great film and it really gives an accurate insight into what it was like to be involved in GPs during this great era.

Thanks to German fan Mathias Biehl for the tip-off!
